Paula, her dad and I went to see the Oregon State Beavers play the Arizona Wildcats this weekend at Reser Stadium in Corvallis for their Pac-10 Football opener. We were greeted by Oregon State’s Benny Beaver!

Monday, September 28th, 2009Nehalem Bay Fishing Trip
Friday, September 18th, 2009Paula’s dad, Clark, let us know that the Coho Salmon would be coming in to Nehalem Bay during September, so we checked out the tide tables and found a good time to camp out at Nehalem Bay State Park and do some salmon fishing! Paula and I packed up the tents and camping gear, while Clark brought his boat up, and we prepared to hit the bay! Click to read more and see more pictures!

Lava CAT Forest
Saturday, September 12th, 2009Some of you may remember, Paula and I went out to Bend and visited the Lava Cast Forest. Jasper and Tuxedo didn’t get to come along, but they created their own version of the Lava CAT forest, by creating deep cat casts on the bed! If you don’t know what the heck I’m talking about, check out our link.

Return to Estacada Lake
Tuesday, September 8th, 2009Paula and I returned to Estacada Lake this morning with the canoe. It started to rain before we took any good pictures, and I had to put my iphone in my tackle box so it didn’t get all wet. Needless to say, it was action-packed! We got off to a shaky start! I lost my hot lure from last week on the first damn cast, and Paula benched her hot lure soon afterward. No problem, we each found new hot lures today, mine was the Red Devil, and Paula’s was the Barbie Lure. Both were Wedding Rings tipped with Nightcrawler.

Fishing at Estacada Lake
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009Saturday morning, we weren’t even thinking about going fishing. Paula and I decided to go hiking up at Milo McIver Park and check out the horse trails. Paula hadn’t been up there before, and we were talking about the park Friday night, so we went hiking. Once we arrived at the park, while we were driving down to the trailhead, I noticed a new sign for Estacada Lake. Now, I had known about Estacada Lake, and knew there was a fishing dock on the town side, but I didn’t know of any access on the park side, so Paula and I detoured and scoped it out. There was a nice launch, plus a dock–and people were catching fish! So, we decided that we need to come back with the canoe on Sunday. (the above pic is from the canoe on Sunday)
